One Night Only - Art in Residence: Celebrating 15 Years of Collecting

Get Inspiration From the Past, Glimpse The Future Through One-Night Art Show
Get a glimpse at the inspiring artwork occupying the homes of York County area collectors, brought together in an amazing show that lasts for one night only. YorkArts 15th annual "Art In Residence" presented by CGA Law Firm celebrates the imagination of the collector by taking treasured works from over 40 private collections throughout the community and displaying them during the three-hour event. This year's "Art In Residence", being held on Saturday, April 28th from 7pm until 10pm at the Bon-Ton Corporate offices at 2801 East Market Street in York, will focus on the art that has inspired local collectors in their lives. Each work is accompanied by a story from the owner of how the art inspires them, and how they came to own it.

This year's event will feature a retrospective collection of the most memorable and sensational works the show has featured over the last fifteen years, together again for one night. It will also feature the rare & amazing medical antique/artifact collection of Douglas Arbittier, MD, MBA dating from the 17th through the 19th centuries. This collection features surgical sets, bloodletting artifacts, and medical instruments that Dr. Arbittier has acquired over his years of collecting and have to be seen to be believed. (Attached image of 1840's Amputation Set By Wiegard & Snowden in Philadelphia, PA and Antique Green Leech Jar will be featured in the event collection.)

Other highlights of the gala will include a silent auction featuring original artwork, a private tour of the Arbittier Museum, unique jewelry, and experience packages; wine and culinary art creations by Artistic Foods Catering & Sweet Bites, and a Drawdown worth over $2,000 in cash and prizes.

All proceeds from the event will support arts programs for York City and York County youth. Admission is $65 per person, $100 for admission plus entry into the Drawdown. For ticketing information, please visit YorkArts at 10 North Beaver Street in downtown York, call at 717-848-3200, or go to www.yorkarts.org
